BusyBeans is a Program created by AimBig Employment which assists job seekers to build the skills and capacity to become job ready in a supportive, practical environment.
The program gives people living with disability the knowledge and specialised skills to become quality baristas. The skilled BusyBeans baristas are then matched to vacant roles within Compass Group sites to provide in-house barista service.
Compass Groups Partnership with the Busy Beans program creates an environment where the participant can get to know the role and working environment prior to starting work, they are able to participate in an adjusted interview process and show off their skills to secure their role.
Compass Group provides disability confidence training to all the supervisory staff involved in this program which has a positive impact on sustainable employment outcomes. The ongoing mentoring and support from AimBig to both participant and managers also ensures that the participant can overcome any hurdles to sustaining employment.
This Program Partnership started in Melbourne within a well-known banking client site and has now expanded to Sydney with two placements within our Tech sector clients. Due to the initial success of this pilot program we foresee an ongoing relationship and growth throughout more of our sector brands and sites.
