Grow with Compass Group
From clients to colleagues,
we're ready to create success together.
Compass Group Australia respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live, work, and operate. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and recognise the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country, culture, and community. We are committed to listening, learning, and walking alongside First Nations peoples as we continue to grow together.
As a proud Stretch RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan) organisation, we have a strong commitment to reconciliation and embed it into our core business strategies. Chern’ee Sutton was commissioned by us to create this beautiful artwork for our most recent RAP plan. She is a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people, this painting is her interpretation of Compass Group, its journey and the amazing work that everyone at Compass Group does.
The central yellow and orange symbol in the painting represents Compass Group. The surrounding handprints in various colours and sizes reflect the care and support Compass Group provides to people from all walks of life. The yellow and white rings, along with U-shaped people symbols, represent Australia and Compass team members nationwide, highlighting their efforts to close the gap in employment and business engagement.
The artwork is divided into six sections, symbolising the six Noongar seasons: Birak, Bunuru, Djeran, Makuru, Djilba and Kambarang.
Footprints in the painting symbolise Compass Group’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) journey, reflecting its commitment to closing the gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through employment, training, community engagement, and supplier diversity.
Hear Chern’ee describe her amazing artwork and the various elements that bring aspects of Indigenous culture, Australia and our reconcilation achievements and commitments to life.
“This piece isn’t just a piece of art, it’s a living part of our company story. It represents a significant investment in our Indigenous engagement commitments, and working with Chern’ee as an Indigenous artist ensures our actions are authentic and reflect our genuine partnership. It also gives us something truly unique to share – a vibrant piece of Australian culture that our employees can connect with and enjoy everyday, strengthening our own workplace culture. Most importantly, this partnership creates a sustainable connection for our Indigenous community.”
