From before you commence, through to induction, onboarding and beyond, your Learning and Development pathway is customised specifically for you, outlined in our sector specific 100-Day Plans.

With a learning culture built on solid foundations, established over decades of commitment to inclusive adult learning principles, you will have multiple opportunities to train and grow, whether it is to develop in your current role, or if you aspire for growth into other roles.

All our people have unrestricted access to our customised learning management system, Compass College, where you can access hundreds of resources at any time, on any device. Expand your knowledge with e-learning topics ranging from Food Handling and Safety, to Systems training, Financial skills, Leadership and Management. Whatever your role or interest we have a strong library of online resources which is continually growing to meet your needs.

Offline, we are building skills and capability with on-the-job training, mentoring under the guidance of our onsite buddy system, workshops, job instructions, aids and videos. Our internal ‘Academy’ offers practical hands on training and Management Workshops, under the guidance of experienced trainers.

For those who wish to progress from frontline roles into Supervisory and Management roles we recognise that each move comes with its unique set of requirements and challenges. We have created a suite of development programs to support our leaders, whether you are supervising frontline teams, managing a site or leading and supporting multiple accounts.

Some of our in-house and external options include:  

  • Our Pathways Program assists with the transition of supervisors and team leaders on site.
  • Our Management Development Program is structured in three stages over 12 months, and includes elements such as e-learning, Coaching, on-the-job training and experience and attending Management and Business Workshops to develop well-rounded leaders and set them up for success.
  • Our Leadership Development Program combines core and elective components to build capability and set our leaders up for success wherever their journey may take them.
  • We have built longstanding relationships with external providers who support our people in undertaking nationally recognised qualification with us in areas such as frontline management and chef qualifications.
