Compass Group Australia is delighted to be working with The Australian Network on Disability, Business Council of Australia and the Commonwealth Department of Social Services on a national Career Pathways Pilot, that will increase employment and improve career advancement opportunities for people with disability.
Following the Jobs and Skills Summit in Canberra in 2022, Minister for Social Services Amanda Rishworth announced funding to develop the Career Pathways Pilot.
Today, alongside Minister Rishworth and the three other pilot participants, Suzy Hudson, Executive Director of Healthcare at Compass Group Australia and the Executive Sponsor for our Disability Working Group spoke at the launch event, and shared how Compass Group Australia is developing a dynamic and diverse workforce reflective of the communities that we serve.
Hiring 152 people living with disability so far in 2023, Compass Group Australia has developed highly effective working relationships with several Disability Employment Service Providers and Workforce Development Providers to support people who are struggling to find employment through mainstream recruitment processes. We are removing unintended barriers throughout the employment cycle and focused on professional development to empower our people.
With this co-design program Compass Group Australia wants to review and evaluate the best formula, approach and model to support our employees who identify as living with disability and we’re committed, alongside pilot member Coles, Kmart & Target and Woolworths Group, to bring about meaningful change.
