Canteen Supervisor

We are seeking a Part Time Canteen Supervisor to join our small Team at an exclusive College in Lindfield.

The Position

We are seeking an experienced and engaging Canteen Supervisor to assist in overseeing the front of house operations of a busy school canteen. This Canteen Supervisor role is based in Lindfield at a small and exclusive school. The hours of work are 6.30am – 2.30pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Working with a 5 star Kitchen team, you will ensure that all food services run smoothly and take ownership of the high standard of service we provide to residents.

You will be assisting with Breakfast, Morning tea and Lunch, ensuring that we deliver on the exceptional standards that our Chartwells sites are accustomed to. 

This Canteen Supervisor role is based in Lindfield at a small and exclusive school. The hours of work are 6.30am – 2.30pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Key duties

  • Be a hands on supervisor whilst ensuring the team delivers a high standard of service
  • Provide a smooth service at our Prep school tuckshop, ensuring food quality is upheld
  • Experience with Cooking delicious, healthy food
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and stored in accordance with correct food handling and hygiene procedures
  • Provide, encourage and promote exceptional customer service
  • Ensure compliance with workplace Health and Safety practices within the tuckshop
  • Ensure all catering controls are in place and wastage is kept to the minimum
  • Supervise, train and provide instructions to the overall tuckshop team
  • Accepting and receiving of deliveries
  • Cash register, EFTPOS operations and handling online ordering systems

The Person

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to lead from the front and take ownership
  • Have a passion for providing exceptional customer service
  • Previous Supervisory experience in a food environment
  • Computer literate as we have online ordering systems
  • Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to relate to a wide range of people including staff, volunteers, parents, students and other members of the school community
  • Maintain a professional, patient outlook throughout busy service periods
  • Be a team player and willing to jump into all areas
  • Enhancing our positive workplace culture by displaying high levels of customer service, contributing ideas and being flexible to meet the needs of the business
  • You must have a Working with Children check (or willing to obtain one)
