Catering Assistant

The Position

We are currently recruiting for experienced Catering Assistant to join our busy and fun team at our campus in Hawthorn in a Casual position. As part of the catering team, you will have regular interaction with our students and have a genuine passion for, not only the food we provide but also the people we serve. Our students’ health and well-being are paramount and we’re looking for Catering Assistants with a smile on their face and will go above and beyond in providing the best service possible.

If you’ve worked in a similar role, have an adaptable and flexible nature and ideally have aged care experience and have outstanding customer service experience then we’d love you to join our team!

Key Duties

• Provision of excellent customer service to internal and external clients and going “above & beyond” client expectations
• Responsible for setting up and serving of meals
• Ensuring food is served at the correct temperature and completing on site records
• Assisting in the kitchen with preparation of food
• Sandwich making
• Cash handling
• Coffee-making

The Person

• Previous Catering Assistant experience 
• Food preparation/kitchen experience
• Be willing to multi-skill
• Knowledge of food safety
• Have a genuine team player attitude
• Able to obtain a Working with Children Clearance
