  The Position

We are currently looking for a qualified and creative Chef to join our newly created team in Bendigo. You will be reporting to our Site Manager and be responsible for the production of high quality, on-trend meals across our functions and cafe. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual who wants to be part of a busy team who are ahead of the curve when it comes to latest cooking techniques, food presentation and culinary excellence. The primary role is to be hands on and ensure the food offered at the site is delivered to an exceptional standard. The ideal candidate will have longevity in previous positions and must have a real passion for creating fresh seasonal food and show flair and creativity through our menus.

 A day in the life

  • Prep and cook all items across our café, restaurant and function menus
  • Observation of and implementation of allergy awareness controls
  • Monitor costs with special regard to portion control, waste minimisation and stock control
  • Always Maintain a customer focus, responding to feedback positively and proactively, implementing great ideas and seeking opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure the safe production of a quality product without comprise to the food safety guidelines provided
  • Planning and directing food prep, controlling food cost and quality control

 A bit about you

  • Chef’s Trade Qualifications
  • Experience as a Chef in a comparable environment as well as high volume experience
  • Up to date with latest food trend and cooking techniques
  • Volume function experience
  • You will have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations
  • Full understanding of OHS, Hygiene & HACCP regulations
