The Position

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and creative Part Time Chef who would love to showcase their appetite for producing exceptional fresh seasonal food and demonstrate their passion through our menus at Launceston Church Grammar School, Tasmania. This part time role will see you showcasing your talent from Monday to Friday 6.45 AM to 2 PM or 2.30 PM to 7.30 PM

A bit about you:

  • You will have a Chef’s Trade Qualifications with at least 2 years+ experience in a similar role
  • You will be responsible for the production of culinary offerings
  • You will have a drive to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • You will have a comprehensive knowledge of all kitchen operations and exciting latest food trends
  • You will have strong attention to detail, leadership qualities and ability to communicate to juniors & senior members of staff.
  • You will have an applied knowledge and passion for understanding OHS, Food Safety & HACCP regulations

As part of our recruitment selection process, you will be required to present a current Working with Children’s Check and a current Police Check

Key Duties

  • Assisting and oversee the preparation, cooking and presentation of all our innovative and mouth-watering culinary offerings ensuring that the food you offer at the site is delivered to an exceptional standard across our menus and daily specials
  • Actively maintain a complete awareness and desire for nutrition and healthy eating
  • Championing the significance of allergy awareness and ensuring controls are adhered to
  • Influencing food costs via portion control, waste minimisation & stock control.
  • Uphold an exceptional customer focus at all times
  • Ensure the safe production of a high-quality product without comprise to the food safety guidelines provided
