Cloud & Infrastructure Specialist

In a period of growth, we are seeking applications for a Cloud & Infrastructure Specialist responsible for the high availability, maintenance and support of Compass Group’s D&TS Cloud & Infrastructure  across the Pacific region.

The Position

This hands-on role reporting to the Infrastructure & Service Delivery Manager will require you to;

  • Support, maintain and better optimise AWS/Azure environment, servers, backups and networks in accordance with SLAs
  • Proactively monitor infrastructure in order to allow for early detection and rectification of potential risks
  • Provide consistently highly available Infrastructure to all business units, teams and end-users across the region
  • Provision and implement a range of infrastructure platforms as per changing business requirements
  • Keep abreast of technical developments of operational importance to Compass Group and participate in developing a set of standards as directed
  • Keep abreast of evolving technology applicable to business needs
  • Propose changes to processes and procedures to facilitate continuous service improvement
  • Provide Compass Group employees with 3rd level Cloud and Infrastructure support as required in accordance with the D&TS Incident and Request management processes and SLAs
  • Create and update documentation specific to the D&TS cloud & infrastructure team
  • Coordinate problem management assignments to facilitate root cause analysis and resolution
  • Efficiently coordinate and manage vendors to achieve deadlines

The Person

We will be looking for candidates with the following attributes;

  • 3+ years IT industry experience in a similar role
  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification and / or industry certification
  • A firm understanding of ITIL and SLA’s
  • Proficient Change Management skills
    • Ability to notice trends in common support issues that arise
    • Proficient to intermediate level in MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
    • Be able to work individually or as part of a team depending on the task at hand
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks accordingly
    • A structured and rational approach to problem solving
