Executive Chef

We are currently looking to appoint an innovative and passionate Executive Chef to lead our team based in the Sydney CBD, and oversee operations interstate. The sites are high end corporate environments.

The Position

We are currently looking to appoint an innovative and passionate Executive Chef to lead our hard-working kitchen team based in Sydney, and also sites located in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for planning, execution and efficiency of our production logistics for both our onsite and offsite catering.

As the Executive Chef, you will take ownership of the culinary operation and lead by example in all areas including supporting and promoting “Our Safety Culture” framework. You will have a strong interest in food trends, innovation and be able to ‘flick the switch’ between running a tight commercial operation, motivating the team and executing an outstanding catering output.

Key duties

  • You will bring your ideas and demonstrate strength in creating culinary benchmarks in modern flavours, presentation and local produce
  • A natural leader with a unique approach to high end catering bringing flair, warmth and outstanding cuisine in an upmarket setting
  • Your experience in the delivery of high-end corporate style functions is imperative as is your ability to navigate a team to success through leadership, training and safety compliance.
  • You will be an energetic, progressive, creative professional who will remain pragmatic and focussed in an ever changing and challenging environment.
  • The ability to foster close and positive working relationships with staff, key clients and customers is essential as are sound verbal and written communication skills.
  • Manage costs in line with business requirements and agreed budgets
  • Ensure optimal rostering and workforce planning in an environment driven by seasonal trends

The Person

  • A qualified Executive Chef with the experience necessary to run multiple outlets and differing types of service from large scale functions and events, retail and fine dining restaurant
  • Will be a positive, supportive and ambitious leader experienced in carrying out personal development plans, staff training sessions and appraisals
  • Will display a proven history of strong logistical experience for requirements across multiple venues, functions and catering requirements
  • Will possess a keen eye for detail, quality and presentation standards
  • Develops effective relationships with individuals at all levels, from diverse backgrounds, cultures and locations
  • Will be self-motivated and an excellent communicator
  • Knows how to identify and deliver on growth opportunities
  • Be willing to adapt to last minute requests with a positive attitude on a day to day basis
