Instructional Designer

Based at any of our Head Offices you will work closely with the Operations Managers to develop appropriate programs and content to complement an array of existing training experiences.

As part of this commitment we have an opportunity for an Instructional Designer on a 12 months fixed-term basis to help up develop a new “Standards Framework”. This is a newly created role, that will work in partnership with our Operations and Support Services teams to develop a suite of course content, activities, learning guides and assessment.

The Role:

Whilst working in conjunction with the General Manager of Organisational Development, you will be required to;

  • Develop course content, activities, learning guides for virtual onboarding
  • Develop micro learning for an onboarding program
  • Develop a suite of leadership activities/assessments ranked as key focus areas
  • Create evaluation and observations guides to support the role of Operational Coach
  • Determine mandatory learning requirements for new employees, so they are safe, confident and proficient with their role responsibilities
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders or subject matter experts, clearly identify the job requirements, policies and procedures and role specific tasks that need to be developed
  • Craft engaging learning activities, compelling content and where required, role specific assessments
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc) for the induction program, and any other Academy courses
  • Prepare induction manuals taking into account the continual evolution of our business, and the diversity of our workforce
  • Develop monitoring systems to ensure that all employees are performing job responsibilities according to training – and where required, tailor program to improve outcomes for new starters.

The Person

Candidates with the following attributes will be held in the highest regard;

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or higher level TAE qualification preferred
  • Previous experience in hospitality or a services industry,
  • Preparation of training session plans and classroom resource development
  • Proficiency in the Development of e-learning modules
  • Prior experience as a L&D Officer, Instructional Designer or Facilitator
  • Deep technical knowledge of L&D practices including adult learning principles.
  • Good attention to detail and administrative capability
  • The ability to develop effective relationships and build strong business partnerships
