Cookoff with OzHarvest

For the 7th consecutive year, our Compass Group and Foodbuy teams participated in the OzHarvest Community Cook-Off event.

Hunger is higher than ever, with over two million households in Australia struggling to put food on the table. There’s never been a more crucial time to come together and help feed people in need.

Spread over two weeks, the OzHarvest team held a number of events across Australia inviting their corporate partners to cook alongside leading Chefs and guests from their 1,900 Australian community charities supported by OzHarvest.

This year our team cooked for, and hosted guests at, the OzHarvest HQ in NSW alongside Chef Guillaume Brahimi and My Kitchen Rules stars Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel.

As part of our Global commitment to eliminate food waste and aligned to Compass Group Australia’s Purpose, we are proud to continue our partnership with OzHarvest, in supporting this annual event and ensuring good food that may normally go to waste across our operations, can be repurposed into nutritious meals for those most in need.

As their first Major National Food Service Partner, Compass Group works closely with OzHarvest to help reduce food waste and we have donated over 800,000 meals to Australians in need through our long-term alliance.

Last year alone, across Compass Group’s largest international markets, the Group donated more than 1.3 million meals to local communities.

Compass Group has created a digital cookbook, featuring recipes from over 50 Compass Group chefs across nearly 40 countries. The cookbook makes it easy to create meals which give a second life to ingredients that most commonly go to waste.
