Launched six years ago, Compass Group’s APAC Sales Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Business Development and Growth teams. Last year’s ceremony, held in Cambodia, welcomed distinguished guests, including Compass Group Australia’s (CGA) Billy Mitchell and Eliza Rebeiro, who were each honoured with a prestigious award.
A Moment to Remember
In 2024, Billy Mitchell was named the APAC Overall Growth Champion, achieving the top performance across the entire APAC region. Beyond the results, it was his heart and teamwork that defined his success.
For Billy however, this award wasn’t just about hitting targets, it was a celebration of collaboration.

“Everything we achieve is because of the team,” Billy shares. “This is my fourth time attending the awards, but my first time taking home the top honour. It’s not just a win for me, it’s a win for everyone who supports and believes in what we do.”
Three Decades of Dedication and Growth
Billy’s career with Compass Group spans over three decades, beginning in 1992 as an Assistant Unit Manager. His journey has taken him across continents, including roles in South Africa, Mozambique, Cyprus, Qatar and now Australia. In 2012, Billy joined CGA as a Business Development Director, a role he has held ever since.
Reflecting on his journey, Billy says, “Every role, every country and every challenge has taught me something new. It’s been an incredible journey of growth and discovery.”
The APAC Sales Excellence Awards are more than just a professional celebration, they’re also about recognising the personal sacrifices and support that families provide. Winners’ partners are invited to attend the awards, which Billy sees as a heartfelt gesture. “This role requires travel and some late nights, so including our families is a wonderful way to acknowledge their support,” he notes.
Winning through Strong Partnerships
It was also a proud moment for CGA’s own Eliza Rebeiro. Recognised as the APAC Overall Retention Champion, thanks to Eliza’s dedication to building strong, lasting client relationships, she took centre stage. Eliza’s win stands as a testament to her outstanding contributions over the past four years with CGA.

As part of the Strategic Alliance Group (SAG) at CGA, Eliza focuses on turning clients into true advocates and strengthening partnerships at every level. SAG serves as the vital link between CGA and its clients, ensuring partnerships don’t just last but continue to thrive. With a sharp focus on proactive retention, the team works to anticipate client needs and drive long-term success.
Eliza’s win was a direct result of her part in CGA’s 98% contract retention rate, as well as her impact as a trusted Business Partner.
“Successful contract retention is a team sport,” Eliza says. “Receiving the award on behalf of ESS Remote was an absolute career highlight for me, as it quantifies our team’s success and acknowledges our dedication to client and resident satisfaction.”
For Eliza, the recognition wasn’t just about the win, it reflected the collaboration and trust that drives strong partnerships.
“The ceremony, and the entire weekend, brought me closer to teams from across our region,” she shares. “It was incredible to feel our shared pride in the work we do and beyond the celebrations, this event reinforces the value of staying connected with colleagues who share the same passion and purpose.”
The Power of Client Engagement
Since joining CGA in late 2020, Eliza has been passionate about building meaningful connections to support growth. Now, as Strategic Partnerships Manager, she helps guide CGA’s expansion across every stage of the business journey—from market mapping and prospecting to business development and contract retention.
At the heart of Eliza’s work is her passion for client engagement and the motivation that comes from her family. “I’m energised when I’m connecting with our clients, listening and building trust,” she explains. “I also strive to make my two young children proud every day, and create opportunities for their future. I’m grateful to be part of a supportive team and a company that truly values flexibility, allowing us to succeed both personally and professionally.”
