On 1 June, Mark van Dyck, Regional Managing Director of Compass Group Asia Pacific spoke at The Australian Global Food Forum 2021, alongside a world-class line up of industry experts to debate the critical issues facing Australia’s $150 billion agribusiness sector as it adapts to life after COVID.
Held at the Hyatt Regency Sydney, Mark talked on the topic of China tensions and trade alternatives, sharing about Compass Group’s investment in China and presence on the ground for the last 25 years and what, as a country, Australia needs to do to reconnect and improve connections.
“Even before the pandemic there was a growth in health and a quest for quality premium healthy foods,” he said. “We’re seeing that increase significantly after the pandemic and that’s been a very big focus for us. It’s a massive opportunity for Australia post the pandemic in China and Asia overall.”
