Compass Group Australia, provider of choice for facilities management – Frankston Hospital Redevelopment Project

Compass Group Australia, a leading global provider of food and support services will be the joint facility services provider for the $1.1 billion Frankston Hospital redevelopment project. The new facility integrates with the existing hospital and will deliver exemplary built form, technology, and sustainability outcomes.

As a member of the Exemplar Health consortium, Compass Group Australia will be responsible for the soft services including waste management, grounds and gardens, pest control, cleaning, and security services over the 25-year operating period. The Services will commence in early 2026 once the new facility has been completed.

The redevelopment includes the construction of a multi-level tower that will deliver a new main entrance, capacity for 130 additional beds, new operating theatres and new maternity, obstetrics and paediatric wards as well as greater mental health services. In addition, the redevelopment will include a multi-storey car park and upgrades to some of the existing buildings including provision of an expanded emergency department with dedicated mental health and a paediatric zone.

The Exemplar Health consortium comprises Capella Capital as infrastructure developer, financial advisor, and equity investor; Lendlease as design and construction partner; Compass Group and Honeywell as facilities services providers; and Aware Super as co-investor. The design solution was led by Bates Smart, Congrad Gargett, WSP and Waterman AHW.
