Congratulations to our ESS Defence team on beating eight other defence contractors to be awarded Defence Contractor of the Year for 2020.
Compass Group’s National Executive Chef Leo Gstrein was leading the wonderful collaboration of Chefs working together, including Defence Executive Chef Roulan Habi from Canberra, along with the Townsville Head Chefs Alison Jeffs and Rory Harris and Chef Varun Vaidia.
Our chefs are passionate about plant-based foods, zero wastage as well as natural native ingredients. This was showcased throughout each service, as well as at the native tasting table where the guests sampled meal worms, ants, Finger lime, Riberry and Heart Leaf Ice Plant, just to name a few.
This prestigious win is a testament to the 900 team members across Australia that support the defence contract every day. Our team rises to any challenge and throughout 2020, from bushfires to flood and COVID-19, they excelled, all while supporting the local community and focussing on small business engagement.
